UP news: Major steps have been taken against corruption in UP. Income tax attacks have taken place in 22 places simultaneously. Raids are also taking place in Lucknow, Kanpur and Delhi. These raids are carried out on contractors associated with UPICON. Corrupt officers working in many departments are also on the radar.

Recently, the department also conducted raids in Jhansi.

The Income Tax department had earlier raided an industrial group in UP’s Jhansi district where ‘undisclosed’ earnings of over Rs 150 crore. Unearthed Rs. According to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the group was active in the real estate sector along with taking government contracts and on August 3 searches were conducted at around 30 locations in Jhansi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Delhi and Goa.

The CBDT had issued a statement that a “key person” in the grip of the raid had “voluntarily offered an additional amount of over Rs 150 crore”. The CBDT claimed that an analysis of the government’s contract business had revealed that the group was involved in “large-scale” tax evasion by manipulating its books at the end of each financial year and showing non-profits.

According to the CBDT, “the manipulations in the books were related to fraudulent expenditure claims and unverified sundry creditors which were not found to be present. The seized documents have revealed claims of over Rs 150 crore related to false expenditure and unverified sundry creditors.”

Cash and jewelery worth more than Rs 15 crore have also been seized

The CBDT had said that the scheme for tax evasion by a group company operating in the real estate sector is to get cash in addition to the stamp duty. According to the CBDT, “these companies did not offer income to tax as per accounting standards even after substantial construction work was completed.” According to the board, the Income Tax department during the raids also seized ‘sorted’ cash and jewelery worth over Rs 15 crore.
