Punjab-Haryana: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday stressed on working as ‘Team India’ to tackle the drug menace. At the same time, his Haryana counterpart Manoharlal Khattar also appealed for a concerted effort to destroy this network. He said this while addressing a National Conference on Narcotics and National Security at Raj Bhavan here. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was the keynote speaker at the event.
6,809 smugglers arrested during 4,903 reports
Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Minister Ajay Bhalla and Narcotics Control Bureau chief SN Pradhan were also present in the programme. On the government’s efforts against drug trafficking, Mann said 4,903 reports have been filed in recent operations. Among them, 6,809 smugglers have also been caught. “We have to work as Team India against drugs, terrorism and gangsters and fight together,” he said.
