Uttar Pradesh: Four police constables have been suspended for raiding the house of a local Bharatiya Janata Party leader, while an SHO in-charge of the station has been sent to the police line. A senior police officer gave this information. According to BJP leader Ramesh Kumar Pandey, the Purkalandar police station team raided his residence in Keshavpur Anjana village, searched his house and detained him and brought him to the police station at midnight, the day before Diwali. Did not find anything objectionable from his house.

‘Rs 40,000 given to police to save lives’

Pandey is an office bearer of Bharatiya Kisan Morcha and also stands for BJP. He claimed that he tried to contact senior BJP leaders in the district but got no help due to the Deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya. According to Pandey, the policemen threatened to send him to jail under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act. Because of which the BJP leader borrowed money from his relatives to save his life and gave 40 thousand rupees to the police and somehow saved himself from the police station.

Police officers found guilty in the investigation

After being released from the police station, Pandey narrated his entire story to senior BJP leaders, but due to the Prime Minister’s visit, he was advised to remain silent for some time. He again contacted BJP leaders after Diwali after which senior BJP leaders brought the matter to the notice of Ayodhya SSP Prashant Verma on Friday. The SSP investigated and found the policemen guilty.

‘I received a written application from the complainant’

SSP Prashant Verma said, “I have received a written application from the complainant. After that inquiry was conducted in which the policemen were immediately found guilty of illegal activity. I have suspended the four constables who raided the BJP leader’s house and searched And the SHO, in-charge of Purkalandar police station has been put on the line.
