Varanasi: The formal launch of ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ will take place from Thursday in Kashi, the spiritual capital of the country. Kashi Tamil Sangamam is being organized to find the link between Kashi and Tamil Nadu, the two oldest centers of knowledge, culture and heritage. In the next 2 days, there will be song-music programs in the ceremony and on November 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start the main event ‘Sangam’ at the Amphitheater Ground of Banaras Hindu University. Indian Railways has also made major preparations
Indian Railways will run 13 trains from Tamil Nadu to Varanasi during the month-long ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’. Out of this, the first train will run on Thursday with 216 delegates. Of these, 35 delegates from Rameswaram, 103 from Tiruchirappalli and 78 from Chennai will board the train, officials said. He said Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi will interact with delegates and fly flag from the train at Chennai Egmore Railway Station. A total of 2,592 delegates will come by these trains, officials said. He told that these trains will stop at 21 stations on the way.
Rail will bring more than 2000 students
The railways will bring over 2,000 students from various universities in Tamil Nadu to Varanasi by train under a special programme. The railways will arrange special coaches for these students who come from different backgrounds. These students will participate in the ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ program to be organized in Varanasi. At the same time, IIT Madras and BHU will work as knowledge partners in the central government’s initiative ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’.
