Karnataka News: A call recording purportedly of Karnataka Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister JC Madhuswamy is going viral. In it, Madhuswamy, a minister in the Karnataka government, reportedly says: “Government is not working, we are dealing with it somehow.” JC Madhuswamy’s alleged statement has also been criticized by some of his cabinet colleagues. A phone conversation between Madhuswamy and Channapatna social worker Bhaskar surfaced on Saturday.

Karnataka Law Minister Madhuswamy can be heard telling Bhaskar over the phone in response to farmers’ complaints against VSSN Bank: “We are not running the government here, we are just handling it somehow and for the next 7-8 years.” In response to this, Horticulture Minister Muniratna said in Kolar today that Madhuswamy should immediately resign from the ministry before making such a statement. “He is part of the government and participates in the cabinet on all issues, so he also has a stake in it. It is not right to make such statements while holding a responsible post, it does not suit his seniority.

Cooperation Minister ST Somashekar also hit out at Madhuswamy saying that if these were his views then they were wrong. “If Madhuswamy feels that he is the only intelligent person, then he needs to get that out of his mind first,” he said. Can be heard expressing inability. Madhuswamy was heard saying over the phone: “I know these issues. I have conveyed this to ST Somashekar (Cooperation Minister). He is not taking action. What to do?”

Congress Targets Audio Leaks
Meanwhile, Higher Education Minister CN Ashwath Narayan said Madhuswamy may not have made these statements and someone must have done it to create suspicion. “It cannot be true, you have to talk to Madhuswamy and deal with the situation. It is impossible for Madhuswami to say such a thing. This may be an act that creates confusion among some of the conspirators among our opponents.”
