Jammu Kashmir News: Security forces gunned down three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday. A police official said the security forces launched a cordon and search operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the Nagbal area of Shopian. An encounter broke out during the operation in which three terrorists were killed by the security forces.
Terrorists were involved in many cases of terrorism
A police spokesman said the slain terrorists were associated with the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET). Kashmir Director General of Police Vijay Kumar tweeted: “The three terrorists killed have been identified as Danish Khurshid Bhat, Tanveer Wani and Tauseef Bhat of Lashkar-e-Taiba. They are involved in several terror cases. Were involved in leading the youth against terrorism on Danish Shopian.”
Recently, the security forces were attacked with a grenade
Recently, some terrorists had escaped from the siege by attacking the security forces with grenades. According to the police, the security forces had cordoned off the area and launched a search operation late on Tuesday night after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in Shopian’s Kutpora. According to a police spokesman, during the same operation, the terrorists hurled grenades and fired at the security forces, after which the forces also retaliated, but the terrorists fled and took advantage of the darkness. After that, the terrorists’ hideout in a house was blown up and weapons and ammunition were recovered from there, he said.
