Assam news: An Assam-based Ayurveda expert was booked here on Tuesday for an allegedly derogatory post on social media against a female journalist. The police have stated this. The accused is a member of BJP’s allied AGP.

The accused is a member of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ally Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and has been suspended from the party after a case was registered. The person against whom the case is registered is a familiar face on local television and gives advice on traditional medicine for the treatment of various ailments in television programs. A written complaint was filed against him by the journalist on Monday.

Police say an investigation has been launched into the case. Recently, the accused had made some alleged lewd remarks against women in a video uploaded on social media. The husband of a journalist working in a digital media house had criticized her views in a news post. Apparently annoyed by the negative news against him, the specialist accused the journalist’s husband on Facebook.

A female journalist working for a local TV channel told PTI: “Then he started abusing my character by dragging my name into accusations and making derogatory remarks about me. I am under enormous psychological pressure and desires, that the person be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law. ” The AGP has suspended the accused from the party with immediate effect, and the Guwahati Press Club has demanded strict action against the accused.
