BCCI has informed that VVS Laxman will be the interim head coach of Team India for the upcoming ACC Asia Cup 2022 to be played in UAE.
National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief VVS Laxman has joined Team India for the 2022 Asia Cup in Dubai. Team India head coach Rahul Dravid was about to leave for Dubai for Asia Cup 2022 with the team but before then he was found to be Corona positive. After which he did not travel with the team. According to Cricbuzz, Laxman will take over as the head coach of the team until Dravid joins the national team. BCCI has informed that VVS Laxman will be the interim head coach of Team India for the upcoming ACC Asia Cup 2022 to be played in UAE.

According to media reports, Rahul Dravid will join the team after testing negative for Kovid. Laxman may return home when Rahul goes to UAE. The report said members of Laxman’s coaching staff have returned to India as the coach of Dravid’s staff is in the UAE. The Asia Cup 2022 season begins on Saturday (August 27). This tournament will be played in UAE hosted by Sri Lanka. India and Pakistan are in Group A.
