Due to the brilliant bowling of this Tamil Nadu spinner, the first innings of North Zone was reduced to 207 runs in 67 overs.

Due to the brilliant bowling of this Tamil Nadu spinner, the first innings of North Zone was reduced to 207 runs in 67 overs. South Zone declared their first innings at 630 for eight. At the end of the day’s play, the team scored 157 for one in the second innings to take a total lead of 580 runs.

At stumps, Mayank Agarwal played 53 and Ravi Teja scored 19 runs. Earlier, Rohan Kunnumal played an aggressive innings of 77 runs in 72 balls. He shared a 124-run partnership with Mayank for the first wicket. This partnership was broken by Nishant Sidhu (1 wicket for 62 runs). North Zone started the day with 24 runs without loss. Openers Yash Dhul (40) and Manan Vohra (27) got the team off to a good start.

This partnership was broken by Krishnappa Gautam (2 for 68) getting Vohra out. Dhul, who scored a century against East Zone in the quarter-finals, became Sai Kishore’s first victim after the team’s score went up by four runs. Captain Mandeep Singh (14) and Dhruv Shorey (28) were dismissed early, taking the team’s score to 116 for four. Himanshu Rana (17) and Sidhu (40) then tried to make a comeback after adding 48 runs for the fifth wicket, but after the break in this partnership, the team’s innings faltered. Despite taking a 423-run first innings lead over North Zone, South Zone decided to bat in the second innings instead of chasing.
