New Delhi, September 2. Former Indian opening duo Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir will lead Gujarat Giants and India Capitals in the upcoming Legends League Cricket (LLC). Gujarat Giants is owned by Adani Group while India Capitals is owned by GMR Sports Line. In a statement issued here, Sehwag said, “I am excited to be back on the cricket field again. Having a professional organization like Adani Group and Gujarat Giants as the owners of the team is the perfect way to start this innings of cricket again. I personally have always believed in playing fearless cricket and I will continue the same style here as well.
India Capitals captain Gambhir said: “I have always believed that cricket is a ‘team game’ and that a captain is only as good as a good team. As India Capitals manager, I will push to build a team that is full of enthusiasm.” LLC will be played for the first time in India and will host six different cities. The league will start from September 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, followed by matches in Lucknow, New Delhi, Cuttack and Jodhpur. The venue for the play-offs and the final has not yet been decided.
