श्रीलंका के खिलाफ पाकिस्तान की हालिया जीत 1987 में भारत के खिलाफ मिली जीत की तरह: रमीज

Pakistan created history by reaching the target of 342 runs to win the opening match of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka on the fifth day of the match. The team took a 1-0 lead in the series and scored the biggest goal in the fourth innings in Galle.

Karachi| Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) President Rameez Raja lauded the team and termed the recent victory against Sri Lanka in the Galle Test on par with India’s historic victory in the Bangalore Test against India in 1987.

Pakistan created history by reaching the target of 342 runs to win the opening match of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka on the fifth day of the match. The team took a 1-0 lead in the series and scored the biggest goal in the fourth innings in Galle.

Rameez told a Pakistani news channel: “From a difficult conditions point of view, I’d say this is one of Pakistan’s best Test wins in terms of chases. In terms of tough conditions, I’d say Galle’s win matches the one we had against India in Bengaluru on a spinner friendly pitch.

Former Test captain Rameez was part of the Imran Khan-led team that defeated India in a low-scoring Test in Bangalore in 1987. Pakistan won that Test by 16 runs.

Rameez said giving Babar full latitude helped form a strong team. “This team is his asset and I am happy that he as captain and the other players in the team are taking full responsibility for the performance,” he said.

“I can interfere in the affairs of the team as president, but I have never tried to do that. We have given Babar a free hand and he has made a good team.
