Maharashtra Politics: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has allotted portfolios to newly appointed ministers in the state. In the division of departments, the Chief Minister has with him General Administration, Urban Development, Information and Technology, Information and Public Relations, Public Works (Public Projects), Transport, Marketing, Social Justice and Special Assistance, Relief and Rehabilitation, Disaster Management, Land Conservation and water. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Minorities and Auqaf. Apart from this, the Deputy Chief Minister of the state Devendra Fadnavis will hold the portfolios of Home, Finance, Planning, Law, Justice, Water Resources and Development of the Benefit Sector, Housing, Energy.

Additional portfolios will be given to new ministers after enlargement

CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis have kept with them all the portfolios to be given to other ministers after the expansion of the second phase. Also out of the several departments that the ministers have, some departments will be given to the new ministers after the enlargement. If we talk about the big and creamy ministry, then BJP has got a respectable share in this matter. The remaining wards have been given to the Shinde faction. But to maintain the balance, in the distribution of ministries, larger ministries have been given on BJP’s account than the Shinde faction.

The Cabinet was formed in Maharashtra on August 9, 39 days after Eknath Shinde became the Chief Minister. Under the 50-50 formula, 9-9 MLAs were made ministers from both sides.
