Aiming at the government, Anurag Kashyap said that if people pay GST on paneer, from where will they get the money to watch the film. Apart from this, he blamed Aditya Chopra for the downfall of Yash Raj Films. Anurag Kashyap hit out at Yash Raj Films head Aditya Chopra for the recent Yash Raj Films banner fiasco. In the year 2022, under the banner of Yash Raj Films, Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordar, Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj and Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera were made and all three films flopped at the box office. Even the failure of the film was so fatal that even the money spent on the film could not be fully recovered. An attempt was made to reduce the loss by releasing it on OTT.

Talking about the decline of India’s leading production house, the director again said that YRF’s biggest problem is the ‘rehearsal room effect’. He also said that Aditya needs to empower him instead of dictating him. Anurag said during an interview that Bollywood cinema is largely controlled by these people and also the second generation who grew up in the experimental room. The biggest problem with YRF is the experimental room effect. You take a story and you want to make Pirates of the Caribbean out of it, so it becomes Thugs of Hindostan. If you take a story and you want to make Mad Max: Fury Road, it becomes Shamshera.
Anurag further said that the head of Yash Raj Films is sitting in a cave. Gives instructions from there. The person who doesn’t know the outside world decides how everyone should make their own movies. Aditya Chopra should not give instructions but should come out and understand things and explain to the directors. If Aditya Chopra has hired a group of people, he should empower them and not direct them, not control the casting, not control everything. Sit in your office, hire good people if you trust them and let them make your movie. What mistake is he making?
