मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले में जैकलीन फर्नांडीस को राहत, मंगलवार तक अंतरिम जमानत बढ़ी

The hearing on Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez’s bail plea has been postponed to November 15 by the court. Jacqueline was granted bail by the court before Diwali, which ended on November 10. The court also extended Fernandes’ interim bail till Tuesday.

A Delhi court on Friday postponed its order till November 15 on the bail plea of actress Jacqueline Fernandez in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case involving alleged fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The court also extended the interim security of Fernandes till Tuesday. Special Judge Shailendra Malik, who had earlier granted interim bail to Fernandes, said the order was not clear.

The court on Thursday reserved the order after hearing the arguments of lawyers appearing for the actress as well as the Enforcement Directorate (ED). ED argued during cross-examination that Fernandes could easily flee the country as he was not short of money. The court had then questioned why the actress has not been arrested yet. The agency told the court that it has issued a look-out circular (LoC) at the airports against the actress so that she cannot leave the country.

The court had asked the investigating agency why you (ED) have not yet arrested Jacqueline during the investigation despite issuing LOC? Other accused are in prison. Why is the policy of selective action adopted? Fernandes has applied for bail on the grounds that there is no need for his remand as the investigation has already been completed and the charge sheet has been filed. The court had on September 26 granted interim bail to Fernandes on a personal bond of Rs 50,000.

The court had on August 31 taken cognizance of a supplementary chargesheet filed by the ED and asked Fernandes to appear before the court. Fernandes, who has been summoned by the ED several times in connection with the investigation, has been charged for the first time in the supplementary charge sheet. Fernandes was not named as an accused in the ED’s earlier chargesheet and supplementary chargesheet. However, the documents mentioned the details of the statements recorded by Fernandes and actress Nora Fatehi.
