According to an ICC release, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said, “We were eager to host the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 and we are happy that we have been given the opportunity to host it.”

New Delhi| India will host the Women’s 50-over World Cup in 2025 as the BCCI won the bid for the mega-tournament during the ICC’s annual conference that concluded in Birmingham on Tuesday. The country will once again host this ambitious International Cricket Council (ICC) tournament after more than a decade.

The last time the Women’s 50-over World Cup was held in India was in 2013. In this World Cup, the Australian became the champion by defeating the West Indies by 114 runs in the final match in Mumbai.

The hosts of three other ICC women’s tournaments were also announced today. 2024 T20 World Cup will be held in Bangladesh. The World Cup in T20 2026 will be held in England. Sri Lanka is hosting the 2027 T20 World Cup.
