PS1 will be released in cinemas on September 30 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.” Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen in Nandini’s negative character in the film. Ponniyin Selvan is based on a 1955 Tamil novel.

The period drama is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s popular historical novel Ponniyin Selvan (The Son of Ponni) and is directed by Mani Ratnam. The film has an impressive star cast, which includes Vikram, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Jairam, Jayam Ravi and Aishwarya Lakshmi. The film is being produced by Lyca Productions. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has previously worked with the filmmaker in the 2007 film Guru and the 2010 film Raavan, both of which featured Aishwarya’s husband Abhishek Bachchan. The two also worked together in the Tamil film Iruvar from 1997, which marked Aishwarya’s debut in the Tamil film industry.
