UP Crime News: The Prayagraj unit of the STF in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday arrested two members of the Indian counterfeit money smuggling gang and recovered fake currency notes worth Rs 3.40 lakh from their possession. Deputy Superintendent of Police (STF) Navendu Kumar said that the STF got information that Indian fake currency was being sent from the border areas of India, Bangladesh to various areas of Uttar Pradesh, after which the STF team started collecting information in this direction. . He said information was received from the informer on Thursday that two persons with fake Indian currency were going towards the main road from GC Company Road at Naini. On this information the STF team arrested the accused Madan Lal and Bablu Chaurasia from the said place at 3 p.m.

Navendu Kumar said that Rs 3,40,000 Indian fake currency was recovered from the accused. Madanlal told during interrogation that the gang leader is Deepak Mandal, a resident of West Bengal. He said Madan Lal is a resident of Maheshpur village under Lalganj police station in Pratapgarh district while Bablu Chaurasia is a resident of Thamman ka Purva village under Mauaima police station in Prayagraj district. According to Kumar, a case has been registered against the arrested accused under Section-489B/489C of IPC at Naini police station and further legal proceedings are underway by the local police.
