Noida: A fierce fire broke out on Sunday evening in a slum built near Sarfabad village Sector-113 police station area in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, wiping out more than two dozen slums in the incident. An officer from the fire department provided this information.

Chief Brand Officer Pradeep Choubey said many burials of scrap yards at the site were also burnt due to the fire. He said eight vehicles of the fire department reached the spot and brought the fire under control after about two hours of effort. Choubey said a fire broke out on Sunday evening due to unknown reasons in the slum area constructed near Sarfabad village in Police Station Sector 113 area.

He said that in no time the fire took a huge shape and more than two dozen slums present there were cleared. He said that there were many scrap yards near the slum which were engulfed in the fire.

It is noteworthy that a day before Saturday, a huge fire broke out in a slum area of ​​Siliguri city in West Bangla. The fire service has provided this information. According to officials, hundreds of houses and shops are expected to be gutted in the fire that broke out around 8 pm in Rana Basti in ward number 18 of the city.

Siliguri Police Commissioner Akhilesh Chaturvedi said at least five fire engines have been deployed to douse the fire. A firefighter was injured during this. The fire department said the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, although multiple cylinder bursts fueled the blaze. About two thousand people live in this slum.
