Bhagwat gave address in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh
Addressing an event on the occasion of ‘Tribal Pride Day’ in Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur district, Bhagwat urged the tribals to be strong against those who try to cheat them by taking advantage of their innocence. A large number of people from the tribal community participated in this program organized by Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram at Ranjita Stadium here.
The RSS chief also unveiled a statue of former BJP MP and former Union Minister Late Dilip Singh Judeo on the occasion. Judeo had launched ‘Ghar Wapsi’ campaign to bring back the tribes from Christianity in Jashpur region. Dilip Singh Judev died in 2013. Bhagwat said that Lord Birsa Munda’s birthday (November 15 is celebrated as Tribal Pride Day) and the unveiling of the statue of Dilip Singh Judeo are connected or coincidental.
Judeo was brave and fearless: RSS chief
He said that Judeo was brave and fearless and he remained humble despite having name, fame, wealth and power, he always stood for the pride of the tribes. He said Judeo had great love for the country, religion, culture and countrymen. He said that this love also inspired ‘Lord Birsa Munda’ to fight for all of us.
He said: “What is tribal pride? Then said that the tradition of our ancestors is our pride because it tells us how to live. She gives us a legacy of bravery, purity and intimacy. It gives us such courage to fight in the struggle of life.
Bhagwat said that in the matter of religion, tribal pride is India’s religious pride. He said that the religion of India has grown in the fields and in the forests, all the religions of India have been given to India by the farmers and the forest dwellers. He said that our religion, in addition to seeing the purity in everyone, sees God in all rivers, streams, animals, birds, so it is a friend of the environment, it is a lover. It does not destroy the environment for its progress.
He said that our brothers who live in the forests and regard the environment as gods and goddesses have taught us this, so tribal religion belongs not only to the tribes but to the whole of India. The RSS chief said that to protect the tribal community, protect their pride, increase their pride, one should stand with them as Dilip Singh Judev ji stood.
He said that the whole world needs the pride that Indians have. But for this India must stand by holding this pride. He said, “Let us acknowledge that pride and not forget it, let us not forget our 16 sanskars. Let us not forget our gods and goddesses, our ancestors and their bravery. Because if you forget that, then even the mighty become insincere.
