Saharanpur Road Accident: In Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, a cycling mother-son died on the spot after the bicycle’s pickup vehicle hit it on the Delhi-Saharpur Highway. Saharanpur Rural Police Inspector Suraj Rai said 35-year-old Mahipal Saini, a resident of Manoharpur police station Dehat Kotwali, returned to his village from Rampur Maniharan this afternoon with his 60-year-old mother Shamo Devi on a bicycle when a pickup truck loaded with vegetables near Jandheda Samaspur hit the bike, killing both mother and son.
Rai said the pickup driver tried to run away with the vehicle, but in a panic, the pickup overturned uncontrollably and all the vegetables were scattered on the road, the driver fled the scene. Police have sent both bodies for autopsy, search is underway for the missing pickup driver. Police have seized the car.
The dead body was rescued from a car parked on the side of the road
In another incident, a body was found from a car parked on the side of the Mayapur-Ruppur National Highway in Badshahi Bagh, Rai said. He said it immediately appears to be a case of suicide. The deceased youth has been identified as Manohar, 30, a resident of Haridwar and has been missing from his home since July 5, the official said. He said police are investigating the case.
