After issuing a strong statement in the wake of the brutal killing of Sunil Kumar and seriously injuring his brother Pitamber alias Pintu in Shopian district’s Chottigam village on Tuesday, Tikku asked all the local Pandits to leave the valley.

The KPSS statement said: “No Kashmiri Pandit is safe in the Kashmir Valley. For Kashmiri Pandits, the only option left is to leave Kashmir or be killed by religious fundamentalists who have the support of the local population.” The statement claimed that tourists and Amarnath pilgrims are safe in Kashmir, but non-local Muslims and Kashmiri Pandits are the target of terrorists. The statement also accused the government of its alleged failure to protect the Kashmiri Pandit community.

2 brothers working in apple orchard were shot, one died

Terrorists today shot dead a Kashmiri Pandit in Chotipora area of ​​Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. The name of the deceased killed by the terrorists is told as Sunil Kumar Bhatt. Pritambar Kumar was injured in the firing by terrorists. According to the Jammu and Kashmir police, the terrorists fired at the two brothers in an apple orchard. The injured youth has been hospitalized. Security forces have cordoned off the area and investigations are underway.

LG Manoj Sinha expressed grief
After this attack in Shopian, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha has expressed regret. The lieutenant governor tweeted: “Additional words on the terrorist attack on civilians in Shopian. My condolences to the family of Sunil Kumar. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. This attack deserves strong condemnation. For the barbaric act. Terrorists responsible will not be spared.”
