कट्टरपंथियों के मुँह पर तमाचा है शेख हसीना का बांग्लादेशी हिंदुओं को दिया गया आश्वासन

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given a big assurance to Hindus that we want people of all religions to live with equal rights. He told the Hindus that you are the people of this country, you have equal rights here, you have the same rights as me.

Hindus are often targeted by extremists in Bangladesh. Sometimes Hindu temples are attacked, their property damaged and their festivals disrupted. There have been many incidents of brutal killing of Hindus, due to which the Hindu community is also feeling fear, but now the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina has given a big assurance to the Hindus that the people of the Hindu community are scared. I have the same rights to inform you that Sheikh Hasina attended the programs organized at Dhakeshwari Temple in Dhaka and JM Sen Auditorium in Chattogram through digital medium and addressed the devotees.

We would also like to inform you that the number of mandaps in Dhaka during Durga Puja festival is much higher than in West Bengal. This gives you an idea of how willing the Hindu community here is to keep their religion and culture alive and forward despite all odds. This time Sri Krishna Janmashtami festival in Bangladesh was celebrated after two years with great fanfare as there were all kinds of restrictions due to Corona for two years. Participating in the festival, Sheikh Hasina urged Hindus and people of other religions not to consider themselves minorities. He said that everyone has equal rights regardless of religion in Bangladesh.

Sheikh Hasina said, ‘We want people of all religions to live with equal rights.’ He told the Hindus that you are the people of this country, you have equal rights here, you have the same rights as me. Sheikh Hasina said, We also want to see you equally. Please don’t feel inferior to others. You were born in this country. You are a citizen of this country.

Sheikh Hasina’s speech is getting many headlines in the Bangladeshi media. Hasina was quoted as saying in ‘Pratham Aalo’ newspaper that, ‘This incident is painted as if the Hindu community has no rights in Bangladesh. And the steps taken by the government after the incident are not given due importance. Sheikh Hasina said, I can say clearly. Our government is fully aware of this and I can assure you.” Let us tell you that as per the 2022 census, the Hindu community is the second largest religious community in Bangladesh. Hindus constitute about 7.95 percent of the population in Bangladesh with a population of over 160 million.

Let us remind you that recently there were hate crimes against minorities in Narel, Bangladesh, on which the Indian government also took a strict stance and asked the Bangladesh government to take adequate measures to protect Hindus. That’s why what Sheikh Hasina said on Janmashtami is being seen as a slap on the face to the fanatics and a big reassurance to the Hindus. As far as the personality of Sheikh Hasina is concerned, let us tell you that this veteran politician has not only strengthened the relations with the neighbors but has also taken his country to new heights. With the country due for elections next year, it is also believed that this is not an attempt to cultivate the Hindu vote bank.
