At present, Vinod Kambli’s only source of income is pension from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Vinod Kambli, 50, mentored young cricketers at the Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy in Nerul. However, it was a difficult task to reach Nerul as Nerul is far away from them. Vinod Kambli told in the middle of the day that I used to wake up at 5 in the morning, take a taxi to DY Patil Stadium. It was very busy. I would train at the BKC ground in the evening. I am a retired cricketer who is totally dependent on the pension I get from BCCI. The only source of income at the moment is the board, for which I am very grateful. It takes care of my family.
Tendulkar is a good friend
Vinod Kambli described Sachin Tendulkar as his good friend and said that I don’t expect anything from him. Answering a question, he said that he (Sachin) knows everything, but I don’t expect anything from him. He gave me TMGA (Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy). I was very happy. He has been a very good friend. He has always been there for me.
