Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory at Latur in central Maharashtra will manufacture around 1600 coaches for the upgraded version of the Vande Bharat Express train in the coming years at a cost of Rs 8 crore to Rs 9 crore each. cost. He was addressing an event organized by the Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) in Aurangabad on Monday evening. “The next version of the Vande Bharat train will be manufactured in Marathwada. About 1600 coaches will be manufactured at the Latur plant. The cost of each coach will be Rs 8 crore to Rs 9 crore. This project will create opportunities for companies located within a radius of 400 kms to 500 kms.

Talking about the next generation Vande Bharat Express, Vaishnav said, “The maximum speed of these trains will be 200 kmph compared to the current 180 kmph. The first coach of this edition will be ready in the next 15 to 16 months.
